This may be a strange question as I've already done two JY holidays and have 2 more booked this year.

Do people go on the discovery weekends that have already been on JY holidays ?

I realise the main idea of the discovery weekends is a introdction to JY but before I lost my partner we enjoyed occasional weekends away around the UK. I miss this and thought the odd discovery weekend maybe a good idea.

I'm 52 years old, what sort of age group does the discovery weekends ?

Thanks

Mick

Hi,

I was also wondering this. I have been on one holiday last year to National Parks and Canyons and have booked for Vietnam this year but would love to just get away for a weekend and stay in a nice hotel enjoy a good meal and meet new people.

It would be good to hear from anyone who has been on one of the discovery weekends who can say what they are like.

Hey Mick, you responded to me on West USA, with your experiences (I'm booked to go on 19/09) Good question though, as it will broaden the friendships of fellow travellers around the UK. Keep me posted 🙂.

I think they are aimed at the people who want to know more, but that shouldnt stop you going if you fancy the trip...MY Mum's partener went on a discovery weekend this year to find out more, he enjoyed the weekend and he did book Cyprus Tour while he was there.

They did some one off evening presentations, which Olly (Editor) invited me to,I went along to to be a helper on the evening as in I have done 6 JY Tours so if anybody wanted to ask questions from a REAL JY Traveller they could ask me, I though it was worth JY doing, to have a real person who uses this company. I am also 52. So maybe it might be worth asking Olly if you went to a Discovery Weekend maybe it would be appropriate for you to do something similar...

Cindy

Olly or moderators, if the above comment re helping out on a discovery weekend is not appropriate please cancel that part of the message OK.......Cindy

Hi All

The Discovery weekends are still handy to go on, even if you have been on a proper Just You trip or hioliday. They are very useful weekend break, In top class hotels and venues,, Also if you have been on some trips in the past with Just You, You can forward on your information and experience,to people who may be slightly nervous or apprehensive. and are considering a First Holiday away on their own for a very long time. And put them at ease. I have now done 12 trips with Just You with a couple planned for later this year. However I had already been on 6 trips before going on my first discovery weekend.

We have some wonderful towns and Cities in our own country that are very well worth a visit. And discovery weekends are an ideal way to go to new places on our own shores.

All the best Andy

Jenny,

My thoughts entirely a wekeend away at a nice hotel is very appealing. Coincidence - National Parks and canyons is one of the trips I have booked this year.

Lynn,

Think you'll really enjoy the Golden West, you see so much but expect a hectic time with early mornings, well worth it.

Cindy,

Never thought of that but those of us that have experienced JY holidays have plenty to offer the newbies especially those that are nervous about travelling alone.

Andy,

Thanks its good to hear someone as done a discovery weekend after holidays, its something I'm seriously considering in the future.

Thanks everyone

Mick

Hi Mick,

I went on a discovery weekend last year (my first JY venture!) and I got chatting to a lady who had been on three discovery weekends in the previous 6 months! She didn't bother about the arranged / inclusive trip on the Saturday, she did her own thing. And yes, as the other posters have said, it is nice for the newbies to be able to chat to people who have more experience with the company. And the weekends are very good value I think.

Hi everyone,

I am a bit scared about booking a discovery weekend, but everyone sounds like they have had fun, does the age group vary I am 52.
