Hello, I have just joined the forum and would appreciate thoughts from people like me - 68 years old, reasonably active, widowed 2 years ago. I have had lovely hols in the last 2 years with my family and grandchildren and now would like to step out on my own with a mix of shared time and quiet space. Do you think 'Just You' would suit me? I think it would suit you very well. My Mother in Law who was widowed a few years ago, has been on 1 tour USA and she is booked or the Norweigen Fyords trip this year. I have done 6 JY tours with Tuscany booked for this year they are great fun and if the family are worried you are looked after from start to finish and you will be safe, so have a look and see what you fancy and book it you will have a great time I am sure.

Hi Janna,

First I don't think your age is a issue, I've done 2 JY trips (with 2 more booked) and I'm sure there will be plenty of others around your age. The majority of people on the trips I've done have varied from 20's to 70's with the majority in the 50's & 60's age range. Expect more ladies than men but its a good mix.

As for whether it'll suit you, just pick something you really fancy there is such a wide range of holidays (site seeing, beach, etc). Just You look after you well so once booked its just a case of looking forward to a great holiday.

Hi Janna, I booked a Just You holiday last year, doing the Classic Cities of Italy holiday. After the break-up of a long relationship, I was apprehensive in going somewhere 'by myself'. But I didn't want to sit at home moping, and I knew I wanted to get out and about and see things. The tour was excellent - there were people there of all ages, and everybody made a real effort to get on and join in. I never felt 'abandoned' in a strange place/country, but equally there was 'tour time' and 'exploring time'. I'd made some real friends by the end, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Take the plunge, I'm convinced you won't regret it. :oD
