However I'm pretty ancient (66) and though I like younger people, I would like to know if there's other people around my age likely to be on such holidays, wouldn't want to feel out of place!

Don't worry, I would expect you to fall in to the broader typical age range which tends to be 50 to 70. Obviously there will be younger and older but I doubt you'll feel out of place.

There are lots of threads on age concerns so just have a browse through the forums and hopefully they will help.

The most recent JY I went on to Kenya the youngest was late 30's the oldest 80 something, the core age group was 55-70, I am 52. ! you will be fine and have fun, and you will NOT feel out of place.

Don't worry at 66 you'll find many others around your age.

I've done two JY trips and the majority are in the 50's and 60's age range although a few will be younger and some older.

I am also thinking of taking a holiday in Europe with just you,also worried about being consided ancient ! (also in my 60,s) have travelled alone before with saga, but just you seem to have so much more choice.

Anyone else out there in my age group?

Ancient at 66? Errr No! Didn't you know that 60s are the new 40s? You will have a great time - whatever your age.

At Xmas the age range on my trip was late 20s to 70s and we all had a really good time. Be brave - go for it! Good Luck!

I to am looking to go on a JY holiday but was concerned about the age span. However looking through the forum it appears their is no need to worry. Although my age is mid 80's I have been told many times I can pass as early 70's, fortunately I am reasonably fit both physically and mentally. (at the moment)
