Go for it! Went last year and it was superb. All age groups from young to 'older' but everyone mixes together well.
Went on holiday that included Rocky Mountaineer and add-on Alaska cruise which is very worth doing. I went for Gold Leaf service on RM and was rather disappointed. A lot of extra money for very good food but not much of it and no snacks in between meals. Ended up hungry. Red Leaf evidently OK.
