Yes it was a fantastic trip and a great introduction to Just You holidays. Have already been looking at what is available during the next school holidays with a view to booking again. Am also going to write to Just You and plead the case for more holidays during the summer, it may make a difference.

Afraid I cannot take all the credit for remembering the names - thanks to Eileen. And I spelt yours wrong, Lynda!

I, too have been boring everyone, but also, possibly, inspiring some with my enthusiasm - I have convinced several people to consider China / Just You, starting with the lady in M&S currency exchange on my first day back! (Though I don't think she was going to follow my suggestion to nick some of the Yuan that I was exchanging!)

If it is the same itinerary as the July trip then yes you will need to have an overnight bag as you will be staying in Chengde for 2 nights and your main suitcase will be stored in Beijing. You should get a detailed itinerary 2 weeks before you leave. You don't need a huge amount of money as everything is included. I took 300 pounds worth of Yuan which was more than enough for gifts, group photos, drinks etc - depends how much you like to shop!

Money - take Chinese Yuan for everyday spending, only the big stores take credit cards, also easy conversion as about 10 to the pound.

Cash machines worked fine for me - use Bank Of China, as instructions are in English !!

Overnight bag - yes, we needed for Chengde, for 2 nights - but you should double check with JY

What to Buy - in my case., too much!!...

Most stuff is cheap - suggest: group photos with guide books, silk at the silk factory, paper cuttings at the Paper Cutting Workshop. But, save your money for the Jade Workshop - they do take credit cards, good job for me.

I have certainly caught the Just You travel bug and as usual, I do not hang about

We have been to Lima, currently at Cusco, Machu Picchu on Sunday, Amazon on Thursday - all pretty amazing up to now
