are sandals ok or are more substantial footwear

did this tour in september, you need to take yuans not euros, thomas cook do a good exchange rate, sandals are ok if it is dry but flat shoes if it is wet, I would take both. I had a brilliant holiday and hope you do too, kind regards Beatie.

Argos hve a pack of three for £7.00.

Take yuan and sterling . Although travellers chq's did have a better rate in Xian.

Don't take lots of clothes, no time to change for nights out.You will go straight to the theatre from sigh seeing.

If you like a drink take plenty cash.

£5.80 for a gin and tonic in Xian.

just short of £19.00 for a bottle of chinese wine in Bejing.

A glass is around £5 - £6 and is only small. less than a standard measure at home.

Spirits around £5 a shot and n ot large.

On the whole very expensive if you like a drink.
