Hi,

I am thinking of booking this trip and would be interested to hear if anyone else is going.

Also would be interested to hear from people who have taken the tour in the past.

All the best

Hi Andy,

Love the user name!

I too would like to take the tour on the 15th November, having been sent the last minute availability sheet by Just You.

I am considering adding a few extra days on the end of the tour so that i can explore a little on my own, or possibly twist someones arm into accompanying me.

I had thought of the Krabi Area or Phuket.

I would also like to hear from prior travellers who might have any tips for this tour, i.e. currency, clothing, excursions, must see & best to avoids etc.

Hi Claire,

Thank you for that!

Well I've done it, I booked yesterday and I have added a few extra days to the end of my trip for additional sightseeing/ exploring.

I've not made any plans yet, will probably have a word with our tour guide for advice.

I have already been to Phuket with work a couple of years ago and explored most of the island. Great seeing somewhere when someone else is picking up the bill!

Well Done Andy,

I went to Phuket many years ago, but a friend of mine says that it is very seedy nowadays.

Incidentally, I posted another thread entitled 'Travellers tips for Thailand' and have just had a very nice response from Nicola. You might like to check it out as she has previously been on the trip.

Anyway, I must get back to work now to earn some more pennies for the trip

All the best Claire

Sorry to pester you Andy, but how are you planning to get around on your own after the main tour group flies home?

Have you any idea as to the age group that usually goes on trip like this?

You are not pestering me at all, by the way, thank you for pointing me to your other post! Very interesting!

As to age group, I'm not sure as this will be my first holiday with Just You and on my own to that matter! My username gives you a clue as to my age (birthyear!) By reading the other posts on this forum, it would seem that all ages are welcome and indeed present.

As to internal travel within Thailand, I am returning to Bangkok airport with the rest of the group and flying on from there. I am still in the planning stage at the moment but will probably fly with Thai Airlines as I know & trust them. I plan to return to Bangkok at least 1 day before my flight home so that I know that I will be available to catch the Flight & not be stranded! I figured that one day will allow me to catch a train or bus should I miss the internal flight for any reason.

The Thai Airlines website is very easy to use!

Hope this helps

Thank you for that Andy, I'm a wee bit older than you, but being a Gentleman., I'm sure you won't ask my age!!

Thank you for the information on Thai Airlines, I didn't want to book with a disreputable airline. Their website is indeed very easy to use and their flights seem very competative.

Have just booked this holiday and am glad to see there will be others of a similar age to myself. This is my first holiday with Just you and my first travelling alone. Although I did a similar trip with my wife to Thailand about four years ago. I can recommend doing the optional tours offered by Just you as I did very similar optional tours with Travelsphere the last time I was in Thailand, although this time I will probably not do the River Kwai trip, but try to see more of Bangkok.
