Hi There - is anyone going from 'up North'[Sheffield] on this trip?

Soooooooo looking forward to it as a friend [whom I met on the Cuba JY trip] has just returned and says it's fabulous.

She has given me some 'handy hints i.e alcohol is very, very expensive in the hotels in Jordan[so buy from local shops].

Take lots of water with you when visiting Petra.

I hope to hear from other travellers so we can get excited together.

This will be my 6th JY holiday

Yours, Sue

Hello,

Ive just booked this trip today, nervous as anything as my first holiday travelling without my partner! I'm based in the South and flying from Heathrow so no doubt see you at some stage before departure.

Hi Debbie

Once you are in the executive lounge with everyone else your fears will disappear, mine did.

I have been to Egypt before and loved it so much I want to revisit. Its a good time of year to go,as not too hot,so you get the most out of sightseeing.

I think our biggest concern as a singleton is what shall I wear and how much money to take-we have no one to discuss it with

I have found a few like to 'dress' up at night but most are very casual, especially as we live out of cases for two weeks

I shall ask my friend about the cash situation later

I have found 'Just You' a very good company-no I dont work for them-and we get 'looked after'but not patronised

I am asking JY to pass my email address on to anyone on this trip

Yours Sue [Sheffield]

Hi Sue,

Yes, I'm sure when it gets to the day it will be fine and I get to meet everyone. Also good to know we can do 'casual' in the evenings as I'm not really into dressing up on holidays and it's not easy living out of a case with your best gear, is it?

The trip looks great, some fantastic places to see and I've never visited Egypt or Jordan before although have been to other parts of Middle East but very much for beach hols.

I will certainly stay in touch with anyone who books this, as nice to build up some contact before the day of travel.

Thanks for all the tips so far.

Is there anyone else going on this trip? Just like to get to know some more fellow travellers, before departure day!

Hi

I recently booked this trip (in fact took the last place!). Not been on JY trip before - or to the middle East - so looking forward to experiencing a new land and culture.

Hello,

A first timer like me then, at least I wont be the only one which makes me feel a bit better!

I've been to the Middle East before, but never Egypt and always wanted to go, I think it will be a really good trip. Where are you based - South or North of the UK?

Hi

I'm from the south (Hertfordhire). This will be the first time in many years that I've been on an organised trip, but given it is a culture I'm not familiar with, and the impossible language! it seems the best way to see the sights in these countries. Where in the middle east have you been before?

Hi, Ive never been on an organised trip before but nothing to lose by trying it. Like you say, certainly be useful to have someone with knowledge of everything as so much to see.

Ive been to Dubai City, Fujirah (the coastal area of Dubai), Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. Have always put Egypt on hold for one reason or another but the only place in the Middle East Ive always really wanted to visit.

Herts is not far from me, Im in Windlesham Surrey about 30 mins from Heathrow.

How are you feeling about going on hols with a group of strangers?!

Hi

It is a concern going away for many days with people you don't know. The advantage I see is that this is the same for everyone, and it is interesting talking to others and hearing their experiences. I have been away on short breaks on my own, and although sightseeing during the day is fine, the evenings can be rather tedious - eating dinner alone etc.

What concerns do you have?

Sue - have dropped you a mail today!

Ray - I'm choosing to travel with a group more from the safety aspect, as I would not want to be alone in another country, especially the Middle East! I understand what you mean about the evenings too as very isolated eating alone, but at least you can have a meal with people and then do your own thing if you choose to. Hopefully out of the group that is going will make some new friends too, as be a wide mix of people where I'm sure there will be some commonality.

I think I will be a little nervous on the day, but do see this as an adventure so some excitement too. If you would like my email address please ask Just You as much quicker receiving responses, believe they do not print on here.

Hi Debbie

Only 4 weeks to go now - I'll have to start sorting out what to take. It's certainly going to be a lot warmer than here, with Cairo in the 20's, though Jordan is less hot with possibly some rain.

I'm surprised that so few people bother with the message board. I have asked JY re exchanging email addresses, and they say they don't have your details. This is somewhat surprising as they must have received details in order to log you in.

Hi Ray

You should have Debbie's email address now. I think the issue was that the details given when you register for this website are stored separately to those used by our holiday advisors.

Kind regards,
