It was a beautiful sunny day, allowing this ‘picture-postcard’ view of the town’s main street."

Runner Up, Jill Walter - "I had heard the expression 'Big Skies' relating to the USA's sheer size but it was 

not until I travelled there that I saw what was meant.  This photo for me epitomises that saying in that the 

scale between nature's wonders depicted by the huge 'monuments' and the relatively small size of the man on 

his horse are clearly seen.  This was just one of over 1,300 images I took on that holiday, a truly memorable 

experience."

Runner Up, Irene Bass - "These were taken 3 years ago on a Canada and Rocky Mountaineer JY Holiday. 

Wonderful holiday." 

August - Landscapes

Winner, Jaya Shah - "This photo was taken during a Safari in the Masai Mara National Park on Just You's 

Kenyan Safari Trip."

I have a similar picture of Monument Valley taken when I went with TS in 2012. The big difference is my picture is all shades of orange as we were there in a sand storm. I remember Tim Boaler our TM saying he had never been there in a sandstorm before. We thought the sightseeing would be cancelled but the Navajo guides said if we were up for it they were happy to take us. Never, ever will I forget that (unless i get dementia in  my old age lol)

It was a surprise to win the August competition. I am not a good photographer - just look and press the button and hope for the best. I was beginning to think that Mike will not let anyone else win by submitting lovely shots! Well done to all the winners and runner-ups.

Mike you have done really well by either winning or being a runner up almost most months - well done.
