I did this trip last November and also got my Laos visa ahead of travelling.  It doesn't take long at the airport on arrival but it is one less thing to think about.  This is a fabulous trip and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I have checked with our Visa team and for this Cambodia trip you will require a full visa in your passport. You CANNOT have an E-visa. This is due to them entering Cambodia via the Mekong. They do not have the e-visa facility.

For customers who have their visa arranged through ourselves, we send documentation stating what type of visa is required.

If customers have opted to obtain their own visa we don’t send this information as of course the customer doesn't require it.

All visa fees are added to the booking by default, so if you prefer to get your own visa you will need to either go online & remove the visa fee or call us to have it removed.

If you call us to do this, we will give advice on obtaining your own visa.

I’m doing ‘Untold Cambodia and Laos’ with Vietnam add-on departing 5 November and according to the itinerary we fly from London to Phnom Penh via Hanoi (where I assume it will be an international transfer). Therefore a tourist e-visa *is* acceptable - please confirm. It may well be different for other holidays with different itineraries such as the one Laronde did ... ?

Just out of interest - I had heard that you can get Visa on arrival in both Cambodia and Laos. But you are saying that you need a full Visa for Cambodia if you are arriving via the Mekong. If this is the case, can you get a Visa on arrival in Cambodia if you are entering via the Mekong or do you have to have one prior to arriving?

Visas can be obtained on arrival in Cambodia, even the Mekong check point issues them. We always recommend obtaining a visa before arrival to save time. The Mekong check point will not accept e-visas though.

With Laos, this visa is always obtained on arrival. It’s a quick simple process 🙂
