Hi Julia,

I'm due to pay the balance on this holiday.

But is it going ahead?  Confused.  I know you must be inundated, sorry.

Thanks

Katy

Hi Katy,

At the moment, this tour is currently planned to operate, however in the current circumstances, if the situation changes a member of the team will contact you.

Kindest regards,

I am booked on same holiday. Have now paid my final balance. Hope we get to meet. Keeping my eye on Oberammergau own website. Rehearsals seem to have been postponed at the moment. Such a volatile situation we are all in. I hope for Oberammergau sake as well as us travellers that the play can go ahead. It’s so important to them.

Hi charleyhorse,

Yes, I've also paid the balance.  I've also been monitoring the website.  Its due to open 16th May.  But tbh I really don't think its going to happen.

Just looked on website at 4pm and seen a note up on the Oberammergau website that the Passion Play has been postponed until 2022. (ie not 2021). I wonder if they think this virus will be going for 18 months until a vaccine is found and are being super cautious.

Hi Everyone

Sad news (at least in the short term) - The Passion Play has been postponed until 2022.

All the best, stay safe and here's hoping we will all be off on our travels again soon

Don’t know if Just You are now aware, but the Oberammergau Passion Play,s own website is now saying that the play will not go ahead in 2020, and is being postponed till 2022. Have tried to ring in but obviously phones are being prioritised for more imminent holidays.

We are aware that his has been cancelled by the organisers. One of our holiday advisors will contact all those customers impacted by this cancellation and will discuss what options there are regarding next steps.

I don’t know the answer, but do know that the people in Oberammergau live their lives revolving around “Play year” ie they don’t book to do major family events like weddings etc. So guess they will have things organised for their own lives? Also the men grow their hair and beards for a year before the play. So perhaps it’s now time for a good haircut and start again Ash Wednesday next year in preparation for 2022. Do hope I will be there!
