Hi Vickie.

I'm going to ask a somewhat strange question, but I can't remember it being asked before on the forum.   :)

JY say that porterage is included on holidays.  Should, or does that include the movement of your baggage by hotel staff to your room?  When I first used JY I found that this usually happened, but it seems to be happening less and less as time has gone on.  I know that a lot of travellers like to take their own bags, and I have no problem with this myself, but does it depend very much on the size of the hotel on whether this happens?

Like I said, a strange question (and yes I am known for asking them!).  It's not a complaint but clarification would perhaps be important.

Thanks, and have a good Bank Holiday.   🙂

Hi Bosuncat,

Porterage is very much dependent on the tour and the hotels and isn’t included in all JY holidays but included where possible, however not all hotels offer this service.

If it is included, it is mentioned under the tours highlights/ ‘what’s included’ section in the brochure or on the website.

Hope that helps! 🙂

Thanks,

Vickie

Thanks Vickie.  As mentioned I have found that it is usually the smaller hotels that do this.

Time to check in online for Costa de la Luz next week.   🙂   It's come up so quickly.

A further question. Where porterage is included, does this include tips to porters?

Hi Sarah,

Tips are at the customer's own discretion and not including in the cost 🙂

Thanks,

Vickie

Where porterage is included in the price of the holiday so is the tips to the porters - this is my understanding. But if you feel you have received a good service then you are free to tip porters as well. I sometimes do.

Regards

Jaya
