With reference to the Oct. holiday to Florida at what stage will JY inform booked customers of any cancellations

Good Morning Chardeen,

We normally notify customers about any cancellations of holidays near to the departure date via a telephone call.

When my one and only tour out of 11 that was cancelled which was to Australia, I was notified that week the final payment was due, and it was by phone.

I have been on the Florida tour although it has changed a little bit since I went out, I was on the first Florida tour. So any questions just ask

Chardeen, - Didn't realise there was another Florida trip leaving in Oct. I'm on the 7th November one from Gatwick. I started a folder a couple of months ago, but no posts from current fellow JY-ers so far, (although those who have been before say it is a fabulous tour). I'm hoping it will still go ahead although I am expecting a change to the itinerary because of the Florida Keys being so badly damaged. Still 8 weeks to go anyway, so fingers crossed. The trouble is I have a friend flying in from Texas to Marathon and also hope to see friends who live in Fort Lauderdale while we are there, (on the boat trip), so would like to know a.s.a.p if those parts have been cancelled so that the Texas friend can change her flight, to Marathon Airport), if necessary.

Thank you Cindy. With all the chaos now in Florida and the Keys does JY really think that it's possible to go ahead with this trip? I think more consideration is needed for us who have a hundred and one things to organise before taking that trip of a lifetime.

I am also booked on this tour and am surprised that the tour itinerary sent with the tickets still includes Key West as all information on the internet shows that access to Key West is limited to residents only

The website for the hotel in Marathon that is shown on the itinerary is saying it is closed.

I have been looking forward to this holiday but am feeling cautious now as it appears that JY are unaware of the true situation in these places listed on the tour.

Like you Pat I to was regarding this trip as one of my bucket list highlights. When we get there I suspect we may be getting lots and lots of apologies. It's a shame really because I've had a lot of wonderful holidays with JY.

Yes, I am totally UNIMPRESSED with JY about trips to areas which were hit by recent hurricanes. Of course I would not expect them to be able to say what will happen by the time we actually fly but I find it disgraceful that it is me and other 'guests' who have had to find out for ourselves the current state of damage to pre-booked hotels for the October and November 7th trips to Florida. Not a word of comfort or re-assurance from JY so far, which is totally unacceptable, as is why I am STILL waiting to hear why no JY representative was at City Airport to meet us for the Magical Majorca trip on 6th June, ( although I was assured there would be - and it was my first JY trip), despite asking several times and having also mentioned it on the feedback form I was sent afterwards. Nothing but ' Thank you for responding to our survey', but still no answer to my question. I find this extremely unprofessional on both the Majorca and the Florida queries. It is simply not good enough for the amounts we pay. They also took two weeks to get me back on line on this forum after two weeks of phone calls and e mails. Terrible!
