I booked this trip in September and yesterday I had a phone call to inform me that because BA had changed their flights to Madeira the holiday was being put back two days from 18th to 20th October 2017.

This is not a problem and I said I was  happy with the change. I have received (by email) an amended invoice and find that the price I am being charged has increased by £50. I was under the impression that the price was fixed once a trip was booked, and I would be interested to know why I am being asked to pay more.

My booking reference is A******.

Hi Peter,

I am so sorry to hear of this unexpected charge you have received. I have spoken to one of my colleagues in our service centre who has advised that there was a problem with our reservations system carrying across the original price of this holiday to the new date, which they hadn't been made aware of at the time of moving your booking.

The good news is, as part of our price promise, you are WILL NOT be charged the additional £50. The team have been going through those bookings that have been affected by this change and updating them to remove the additional charge. I can confirm that I have double checked your booking and it has been updated to remove the £50.

I'm so glad I didn't book this holiday! I would have had to pay all over again for connecting flights, hotels, and transport between Heathrow and Gatwick and back. I think for any future European trips I'll have to book via a company that flies from my local airport, I can't risk this kind of thing happening. It's a shame though, it looks like a great holiday ?.

I'm surprised JY weren't able to offer flights with another airline on the original departure date? Surely enough airlines fly to Madeira.

Not long now to my first trip with JY, looking forward to Madeira but a bit apprehensive at the same time. Last time I asked there were 16 on the trip so it looks like a good group size.

Any one on the Manchester flight same as my self ? 

Just read the reviews on TA on the hotel it looks good

I can tell you that there are now 17 travellers on this trip. 7 are male, 10 are female. The age ranges between early 50s - early 70s.

3 travellers are booked to fly from Manchester.
