Hello

Please could you advise me how many are booked on the Namibia trip departing on February 22nd and whether it has been given the green light?

I would be grateful if you could please also give me the same information for The Roof of The World departing on September 3rd.?

Kind regards

Di

Good Morning Dina,

This trip has been given the green light and currently has 12 travellers booked on it.

There are 8 travellers currently booked on the Roof of the World tour but this tour has not yet been given the green light.

Kind Regards,

Mildred.

Hi Bob,

Apologies. I think I need a coffee

The airline for the Tibet trip will be British Airways.

Good spot Bob. Another question  Mildred,  will the flights to and from Chengdu be direct? The BA website is showing BA to Shanghai, Shanghai to Chengdu with Air China. Can you confirm please.

Hi,

With regards to the airline for Tibet - I am booked for May 2017, and I am informed that BA will not be flying to Chengdu from January next year. Are we still flying direct with BA or another airline, or to another airport and then Chengdu? As some of us are doing the add-on to Hong Kong with BA, it might make sense to fly to Hong Kong and then on to Chengdu with another airline?

Thank goodness we are not flying South African Airlines - even in Business Class the service was appalling, and all that was left to eat for our main course dinner was soup!!

Cheers,

Hils

Good evening Mildred

Thank you for the information.

I know it is still very early days for The Roof of The World departing in September but it seems that the interest for this holiday coming from forum members seems to be for the first departure in May. I wish I could do that date, too. However I am grateful that I have been able to book for September.

Kind regards

Di

Hi Bob

I didn't help Mildred, did I, by asking multiple questions on one post.

Best wishes

Di

I'm on the May tour to China/Tibet. When do we hear officially the flights have changed? I'd like re-assurance domestic flights to Heathrow are all fixed up.

Thanks.

Good Morning SarahS,

I have just spoken with my colleagues regarding this and the airline has now changed due to BA cancelling all direct flights to Chengdu.

You will be travelling with KLM airlines via Amsterdam.

You will also be contacted formally regarding this.

Apologies for the confusion.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi all,

That is definitely a change for the better - KLM have a great reputation!  I hope you all have a brilliant time on this tour, I hope to do it in a couple of years so fingers crossed!

All the best,

Bob

Good Morning Hils,

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience with South African Airlines.

You are correct. My colleague just confirmed that you will be flying with KLM Airlines via Amsterdam.

You will be contacted formally about this change very soon.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Mildred,

Re China and Tibet May 2017 - will the airline be KLM just for the flight to Chengdu, or will it be for the Return flight from Hong Kong as well? I need to know flight times as I have to book my Glasgow to LHR flights. I have also done flight upgrades, so will need to know how this will affect costs etc. ASAP please.

Many thanks,

Cheers,

Hils

I've just looked at the  KLM website. It seems the flight from London to Chengdu involves 2 changes.  The final leg is via China Southern Airways.  I hate to think what the total journey time will be.  There must be better flight options.

Aye Dave - so that means I can go from Edinburgh to Amsterdam and meet everyone there.

I'm calling JY tomorrow to try and get the low down.
