Can you tell me how long is spent in Lisbon on the included tour and would we be in the company of the guide for the whole time, if not how much free time is there?

Also, is it possible, feasible, to make our own way into Lisbon on a free day.

Hi Cascat,

The included Lisbon visit is a full day excursion. The group will have a guided visit with a local guide and this will be around 3.5 hours before approx. 2.5 hours free time to explore at leisure.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Cazcat

I did this tour in May & we only had a local guide for our visit to the Maritime Museum. From there we were on & off the coach for other places of interest, with our tour manager Ricardo providing us with as much information as we could take in, the timings Julia has given you.

There were some of our group who did spend a free day in Lisbon, the local bus takes about an hour, then they used a taxi, timetables I believe they got from the information centre in Ericeira

Regards

Barbara

Thank you Julia, sounds good. I am hoping also to be able to make my own way into Lisbon which I think I can do directly by coach. Do you know if the coach station is anywhere near the hotel as I cannot see it on the map?

Hi Cazcat,

It looks like Community member, Barbara has just answered the question for you. You will be able to take a local bus into Lisbon and the Tour Manager will be able to point you in the right direction.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hello Barbara

Thanks for this and I will do it anyway, but would be good if one or two others want to come along as well. Can I ask if you did the optional Arrabida trip and what you thought of it since it is not really inspiring me at the moment?

Best wishes

Carol

Thank you Julia, yes I am happy it can be done as Lisbon is the main reason for holiday choice.

Hi Carol

Yes I did do the trip in the end but didn't prebook it with the others. Not doing it would have meant 3 free days at the end & I preferred to spend that day with most of the group. I did enjoy the pousada & the Fonseca winery but in my opinion it was not as good as the other trips.

I loved Sintra & there is a local bus which goes there too, also one to Mafra which others chose to visit on their free days. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for the insight Barbara. I think I will only book the other two and see how it goes.
