Dear Julia,

I am going to Sri Lanka wth JY in July. I have an international adaptor but it doesn't have the 3 pins needed for Sri Lanka. Can you tell me where I may get hold of an adaptor or whether we can borrow one from the hotels please?

Also - when we get to Columbo is there somewhere where we can exchange Sterling into Rupees and thereafter, where we can change more during the holiday as I don't want to exchange all of my money in one go?

Finally, in order to work out how much spending money to bring, can you tell me the average price of lunches, coffees etc. please?

Many thanks

Kind regards

Penny Carter

Hi Penny,

Sorry for the delay....

In terms of an adaptor, I purchased mine through Amazon (alternative online shops are available). I am aware that some larger high street chemists may have these in stock too.

For the currency, if time allows, you/your group can change sterling to rupees on arrival at Colombo Airport. All of the hotels have an exchange facility so travellers can change sterling throughout the tour. In addition to this, ATM'S are also available in some areas.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Penny

I hope you will write a comprehensive review on your return as this is one trip which is on my 'bucket list'. I would love to go to Sri Lanka in the near future.
