My Italian sister-in-law tells me that the Mafia have been setting fire to the countryside in Campania & that the carabinieri have been called in. So,fingers crossed.

It seems a huge amount of waste buried by the mafia has been discovered and that the area around the city of Caserta is now called "Terra dei Fouchi" - the Land of Fire, and will be controlled by the Carabinieri.

Caserta is near Naples Airport and not near the hotel used on this trip.
