Hello Olly.

Which currency do you suggest for this trip?

Hello

I would use Russian roubles for this holiday. They can be hard to get hold of in the UK - when I went I changed sterling into roubles at the airport in Moscow.

Kind regards,

Would a prepayment card in Dollars be a good way of bringing money in & could it be exchanged for a better rate than for stirling? I think changing it at the airport is the most expensive way! I do not like to have too much cash on me when travelling, as travellers cheques are not used anymore, any advice would be helpful please. Kind regards Heather

Hi Heather

Pre-paid cards are a good way to carry money around the world safely but of course they do come with charges too. I don't know how the exchange rates would compare once you are in Russia - the best people to ask will probably be your pre-paid card issuer, and they will also be able to tell you what the charges are.

I would definitely avoid travellers' cheques.

Kind regards
