Hi,

Leaving for the South African Explorer holiday 21/5/09. Receiveditinary and very interested in going to Robben Island. The details recommend that this trip is pre booked due to a high demand. However I do not know what date/time I should book for as I do not want to miss out on the included tours or other exciting optional tours! Any advice so I can go ahead and organise online tickets for Robben Island.

A speedy reply would be much appreciated as only 2 weeks to go!!

Thanks,

Janice

Hi Janice

You have two options for seeing Robben Island:

1. Visit on Day 3 of your holiday. You would have to miss the optional tour of The Winelands to fit this in.

2. Visit on the afternoon of Day 2, so you can still do the orientation tour of Cape Town. If you prefer this option, please book as late in the afternoon as possible. You would also need to make your own way back to the hotel by taxi for dinner.

I hope this information helps you make your decision.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Hi Olly,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have since booked Robben Island for the morning of Day 3 (not really a wine lover) My friend is coming too, we met last year on the Rocky Mountaineer/Alaska holiday so to anyone who is nervous about booking their first JY holiday....don't be! You'll have a great time and make wonderful new friends.
