Having done the cruise in May 2007 - one of the 'Nefertiti' group - I wondered if there were any alternative itineraries. We did Luxor to Aswan but it would be interesting to find out if there was any other route. I understand that the government of Egypt only opens part of the river Nile to cruises - is this the case?

Thank you for your message.

I have been in touch with our agent and they have now advised that the Egyptian Government do put restrictions on where the Nile cruises can sail, they are only allowed to sail along certain areas. From looking at other itineraries the furthese North is Luxor and the furthest South is Abu Simbel.
