Hi Olly

I have been reassured by some of the comments concerning age (I am late 60s). I am thinking of booking Ahr Valley Sept. 17th, but wondered how much climbing is involved. I DO walk, and enjoy it, but given that it's mountainous did not want to lag behind while younger, fitter members of the group charge ahead. Realistically, what is the walking like in this area?

Hi Maureen

I'm sure you'll have no trouble with the walking on the Ahr Valley holiday. This is a Grade 1 walking holiday (the easiest kind) - which means you'll get plenty of rest breaks, you'll mostly be on good paths, and the climb will be no more than 300m a day. As you enjoy walking, I'm sure you'll be fit enough to get the most from it.

Also, I doubt that anyone will be charging off into the distance, as this holiday is more about taking your time and enjoying the wonderful scenery.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor
