Greetings Galapagonians :)

I just wanted to wish you all a fabulous adventure on JY's inaugural tour of the Islands and mainland Ecuador next week (and good luck negotiating Bogota Airport ...).

I would have loved to have been travelling with you, having booked on the day that the tour was first announced back in 2017. Sadly however, an exploding appendix, and the nasty touch of peritonitis that followed, had other ideas..... :s  I'm recovering well but am under a two month flying ban so am grounded until the end of March. (Not handy when you live on an island but I'm still standing and that's what counts)

Have a wonderful time and I look forward to reading your reviews, and Sylvia's laundry facilities report, when you get back.

Safe travels

Mandy

Glad you are recovering well -  enjoy your ‘wings’ when the ban is lifted.  Not going to Galapagos but will read the reviews.

Hi Mandy,

I’m so sorry to hear your news. I know you were really looking forward to your holiday. Anyway, it’s good to hear that you’re on the mend and that you’ll be in full flight mode again soon.

Take care and hope we meet up again one day - maybe in the Galapagos on a future departure?

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mandy

Thanks very much for your good wishes and I'm glad to hear you are recovering well.  Of course you know that this holiday will not the same without you.  I've booked the Tintoreras snorkelling and am really now regretting it as I'm terrified!

Also, what do you know about Bogota airport that we don't?  Vickie assures us that it is straightforward and I've also checked the airport on google.

As for laundry, I think I'll be doing my own as the only hotel offering self-service laundry facilities appears to be in Quito!

Hi Mandy,  I’m really glad you are on the mend but dreadfully sorry not to be seeing you next week for our Alaska three reunion as we had planned.  We will be thinking of you xx

Shouldn't be much of a problem drying things. The forecast for Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island next week is 29/30C by day and 27/28C the lowest at night. I imagine the other islands are similar.

I hope the hotel aircon is working as I don't fancy trying to sleep if it isn't.

Oh dear Mandy

So sorry you are not joining us but am very pleased that you are on the mend. I was just talking to my friend who asked me if I knew anyone who is coming and I told her that I do not know you in person, but via the Forum and am looking forward to meeting you. Will be thinking of you and here's to a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Jaya
