Hi there all! Alan here. Can't see a thread yet for Malta 26 Sept. Anyone out there? Is there already a thread under a different title? I think as of today there are 12 ladies and 10 'lads'! Anyone got any information to share?

Hi Alan, Jacquie here.  I am booked on the Malta trip 26 Sep.  This is my first just you holiday.  Like you I was looking for a thread with the aim to say hi to fellow travellers prior to the trip.  I'm flying from Gatwick.  So, pleased to meet my first fellow traveller and Hi! 🙂

Hi Alan and Jacquie,

I hope you have a great time on this terrific sounding tour - I hope to do it over the next couple of years so I'd really appreciate it if one of you could write a review on your return?

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Bob

I'm sure that will be something I will be doing on my return.  I'm really looking forward to it as Malta is one place I have never visited.

best wishes on your future trip

Hi Alan and Jacquie,

I am also going on the Malta trip on 26th September so good to hear that you are both going too!  I am flying from Bristol airport.  I also went on a Malta trip with Just You last year (a few different excursions to the one this year). I really enjoyed it so thought I would go again this year seeing as the excursions had changed.  The San Antonio Hotel is very good and the Maltese people very friendly.  I will look forward to seeing you in September.

Hello again!  I just checked the website and I think I am actually booked on a different holiday to you both Alan and Jacquie.  I am doing the Walking in Malta and Gozo holiday but it departs on the same date as Historical Malta by the looks of it!  I might see you at the hotel!

Hi Teresa

Good to hear that the Hotel is good, I've looked at it on other websites and the facilities look great. There should be quite a crowd at the hotel if there are two just you trips staying there, so hope to meet up and say hello.

Hi Alan.  Some information from the moderater about our trip.

There are currently 24 travellers booked on this trip and the group is made up of 9 men and 15 women. The age ranges from early-60s to early-80s.

There are also 8 travellers flying from Gatwick airport.

Where are you flying from?

Hi, Carol here.

I'm also going on the Historical Malta trip on 26 September. The itinerary looks really interesting and I have booked all the optional excursions. Might as well see as much as possible whilst there. Really looking forward to the trip and meeting up with everyone.

Hi Jacquie

Lovely to hear from you. I'm flying from Manchester. This will be my 5th JY holiday and they have all been brilliant. Everyone mixes really well and the tour managers and local guides have all been fantastic. I can't wait now that it's getting closer. See you in Malta! ?

Regards

Carol

Hi Alan nice to speak to you.  Where did you get that information from?  Is there somewhere I should be looking?  See you soon.

Hey just a quick question about walking footwear. What are people wearing? I have proper walking boots and trainers. I'm not sure of the terrain, but I'm sure that in the heat the boots will be rather hot. Any advice appreciated xx

Hi San, nice to meet you.  This is my first trip to Malta (and my first JY trip as well).  I'm flying from Gatwick and as most of the flights appear to be arriving within an hour or so of each other, I'm guessing we will meet at the airport.  If not, see you at the welcome meeting at the hotel.

With regards to footwear, I can only say what I'm taking.  I regularly walk on uneven ground and wear sketchers.  Malta appears to be hilly, old and I'm working on the assumption that we'll probably meet with cobbled and dusty streets at some point.  I am also taking sandals with good soles suitable for walking around markets and towns. All well worn and comfy!!!!!

Look forward to meeting you in Malta,

Jacquie x

Sandra, just thought, are you booked on the walking holiday or the historical one. Both leave UK the same day.  If you are on the walking one then ignore my advice in the other reply, I'd be taking walking boots if the holiday is specifically for walking.

Whichever you are going on, enjoy and have a great time.

Hi All (Jacquie, Carol and Sandra),

I've been a bit remiss in not posting anything since my opener on 3 July. No offence intended ladies! Don't know where time goes these days. I got the numbers of men/women when I originally booked over the 'phone. Jacquie has since updated that so thanks J!  Hope you don't mind the 'J' but Jacquie is a bit tricky on the keyboard!

I've been on other Just You hols and they've been really good. I think trainers will be ok for walking on this holiday as it's not an out and out walking holiday, that's the other one to Malta. As regards the optional trips I'll consider these when I get there. I booked the optional trips on my last holiday and it meant we were out every day which was quite intense. So I'll leave the odd day in between just to chill out around the resort area.

Carol, I'm flying from Manchester too (Easyjet 6.30 am) so it would be nice to meet you there maybe. I'll be the one with the Just You labels on my luggage! If you spot me you can buy me a full English breakfast to set me up for the day and that would be jolly kind of you! (I don't do them at home).

OK ladies, that's all for now, I'm really looking forward to a great holiday with your good selves along with the rest of the holidaymakers. bye for now! Alan.

Hi fellow travellers (easier to type than all the names)

Alan, I don't mind J, I have been called worse things!!! Most people call me Jax, although a friend recently told me that this is Irish slang for a lavatory!!!

I'm flying from Gatwick along with 7 other people, but none of them appear to be on the community so I will have the excitement of meeting them at the Airport.

I did wonder about all the optional excursions taking up every day and being a bit full on but in for a penny..... I can always forgo and laze by the pool if it gets a bit too much.

Enjoy your Full English.... although I think Alan should be buying it for you Carol. Hee hee. 😃

See you in Malta, really looking forward to it now it's getting closer.

xx

Hi Alan, I'll look out for your label in Manchester. Lol. Not too sure about a full English at 5.00 am. but I'll definitely be in need of a strong black coffee. Taxi picking me up at 3 am! I think the flight is now 6.15am.
