Hi

My name is Jan Fitzpatrick.

I am going on the Chile - The Atacama to Patagonia departing London Heathrow on the 9 October 2017.

I will be flying to and from Manchester to connect.

Anyone else going on this trip?

Jan

Hello Jan

I am going on this trip and it all looks very exciting.  Are you doing the add-on?

Our tour manager will be Alison Bisset.  I have been with Alison before and she is very good so we are in safe hands.

Look forward to meeting you on the 9th.

Regards Julie

Hello Jan

I am also on the Chile-The Atacama to Patagonia trip in October and will be doing the Easter Island extension. I am really looking forward to it as I have always wanted to see Easter Island.

I believe there are about 27 of us on the trip.

I will be travelling to the airport down the M4 from West Berkshire so look forward to meeting everyone at Heathrow.

Regards

Barry

Hi Jan

I am also on this trip and doing the add on. It looks a fascinating program.

Julie, I hope you remember the Fabreze!

Looking forward to meeting up.

Hello Liz

You have just made me laugh. We have obviously met before you will have to remind which trip.

I will look forward to meeting you with my bottle of fabreeze.

Hi Julie,

I'm guessing it's the lovely Liz from Burma!

Hi again Liz

I have remembered who you are and I am looking forward to seeing you again. Shall I pack you some Fabreeze?

Thanks Bob,

It all came flooding back to me. I have met so many people over the years on the Just You trips.

Not sure how I could forget the lovely Liz it was only this year. Must be my age or too many fabreeze fumes.

Hello to Trish and Barry I look forward to meeting you both.

Regards Julie

Hi Julie and everyone

Not long to go for you now - I'd welcome any tips or recommendations that you have for Santiago when you get back. I've got a couple of nights there in January on my way back from Rapa Nui because BA have moved my flight home by a day! I'm staying at the Holiday Inn at the airport but I believe the local metro system is pretty good. I look forward to your reviews and suggestions.

Speaking of Rapa Nui - I'm intrigued by the Fabreze, Julie - do tell ?! Apart from zapping cockroaches with it, (death by flowery pong!!) you should be fairly safe without it. One thing I would suggest though is wet wipes. This is because Rapa Nui has no sewerage system so you are not allowed to flush paper or anything that isn't....erm....natural...

Finally - I don't think I've mentioned it before - mobile phones only work in the immediate vicinity of Hanga Roa and the wifi is more or less non-existent so you are unlikely to be able to access the internet very much while in Rapa Nui. But never mind - what better place to go completely 'off grid' than an island in the middle of nowhere!

All the best

Mandy

Hi Julie,

It must be because I'm so quiet and retiring  😛 I'm really looking forward to this trip too and meeting more new people.  Hi Bob, thanks for reminding Julie.

There does not seem to be many on the forum from this trip. i am flying down from Newcastle.

Still a bit confused about how much money to take and what clothes to pack - any ideas???

Hi Sue

I'm still thinking about the amount of money and would welcome any ideas. As for clothes; I'm thinking 'layers'. Northern and Central should be comfortable/Mediterranean temperatures but the south will still be cool. I was in Tierra del Fuego in Nov last year and needed warm trousers, fleece and waterproof plus hat and gloves. That was later in their Spring so I'm planning for the worst.

Thanks Liz

From what others have said I was thinking £500, as I am doing the EI extension.

Are you taking walking boots or just trainers?

Hello Liz (the quiet one) and Sue

I will taking walking boots and trainers and like Liz I will take everything for all weathers. With regards to money I will probably take £500 to be on the safe side.

Not long now.......

Hi again,

Thanks for the suggestions about money, £500 sounds reasonable.

I'm not sure about walking boots but I have waterproof walking shoes so it will be one or the other.

May start to get giddy soon!

Liz
