hello, I am a first time traveler on my own after losing my husband. I am 62 years old, and have traveled a lot in my life, but never on my own. I am worried etc.. by all of it, but feel i need to do this. i was thinking of going to see the autumn falls in September, early October as i have always wanted to see them. I would like any feedback on this please, Do you think the USA is to far for a first trip alone? How did you manage in the airport? UK side and Boston side? And is they any advice that you can give me about travelling alone for the first time. thanks.

Parcel, welcome to the world of JY,

My first tour in 2006 was to the USA, so I would say go for it, I have been on 2, Boston, New England and New York tours albeit not the same tours, the last one I did the add on in New York.

Great tours with so much to see and do.

Managing at the airport is fine, there is normally a JY rep to tick you off the list so to speak, most of the time the JY tour manager travels out with you, on odd occasions the rep has meat the group the other end, or has not flown back with the group but don't worry it's all fine and works out.

My advice to you would be book this tour, do and see all you can while away, it takes two people to have a conversation, when at the airport put your JY luggage labels on your hand luggage so people can spot you and you can spot others.Often you have the use of a airport lounge which is a great place to meet the group.

I have travelled as far as New Zealand and many other JY tours approx 10 great fun and lovely people to meet. Any other questions just ask.

Hi

I did the New England and Canada trip in 2013. It was slightly different in that trip ended with three days in New York. It was a lovely holiday and you do and see so much. The Tour Manager met the group at Heathrow and ensured that all was well throughout the holiday.

My advice is book the holiday.

Hi Parcel

All I would say is if you really fancy this trip then just go ahead and book it. Life is too short to worry about small things. Travelling with Just You is great. There will be someone at the UK airport to assist you to check in and most of the times Tour Manager travel with the Group though sometimes they meet you at your destination. No matter what, you will be travelling with other like minded companions and will not be on your own.

Regards

Jaya

I was separated and 53 in 2010 when I went on my first trip to Jordan, Sinai and Cairo. I had so much fun. Now 60 and a widow for 5 years, I think I have been on 10 tours with Breathtaking New Zealand booked for October.

I have done Boston with my daughter and loved it. This is a great trip which I would like to do, too many places that I have never seen that need to be visited first 🙂

I have always felt safe with plenty of people who are on these holidays to have a wonderful time.

I have been on two Just You holidays before but they are all different and the last one was 6 years ago, so much has changed since then.

I am worried because it takes so long to get any replies to queries in here.
