Hi Jools

I have done both tours to India and can recommend them. Trips are very different. Spirit of India is fast paced but you do and see so much. Kerala is more relaxed and the area is very different to the north.

I am considering either South Africa or Sri Lanka for next year.

Hope this helps

Hi Jools,

I've done both tours (as I'm sure have many on the forum!) but my personal preference is definitely South Africa.  For me, it had everything: stunning scenery, wildlife, great food and wine, interesting history and culture.  I could go on and on!  If you decide to do this tour, please try to do the Zambia add-on as well; it was the icing on the cake - more amazing wildlife (Chobe NP in Bostwana), the splendour of the Falls (be sure to do either a helicopter ride or microlight over them - I did the chopper flight), a gourmet dinner on a steam train through the national park and an incredible sunset cruise on the Zambezi!  Regarding India, this is also a great tour and it hits all the highlights of northern India - the standout moments for me were the Taj and we were lucky enough to have a very close up sighting of a tiger.  However, for me, S Africa wins hands down on every level!

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I have done both South Africa and India and loved them both. I am doing Kerala (South India) in February, and it would be great if you could join us as we need more people to book! It is very different from the North, I gather, and more relaxing. There is a bit of everything, including a night on the houseboat, and the river cruise to, hopefully, see elephants.

Whichever one you choose, enjoy!

Cheers,

Hils

I would suggest please your heart first and visit South Africa next year. I am going to SA and add on to Zambia on 8th November. Looking forward to it.

I am of Indian origin, been there at least 25 times since I came here in 1968. Now I want to see rest of the world.

Hi

Do India first followed by South Africa! I am doing the South Africa with Zambia add on in September and can't wait. I did the Kerala trip last year and thoroughly recommend it. I have not done Spirit of India so can't compare, but Kerala trip was definitely not hectic at all.

Happy travelling.
