Hi -have been looking at this site for a while and thinking about travelling solo next year.My last holiday was in 2004-I havn't wanted or felt strong enough to travel on my own.I am terrified that I get anxious once there and want to come home!I would just love to escape for some sunshine and relaxation.Am I too old at 60?Do u have to join trips or can you just relax independently?Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Mussie,

I cant guarantee that you wont get anxious, but I can tell you that travelling with a group like JY is a safe and fun way to travel. There is always someone to hang around with, share a meal with and share the holiday with. At 60 you are definitely not too old. Ages range from 30's to 80's, everyone mixes and most look out for each other. You will soon make some new friends to share experiences with.

You can join in as much or as little as you like on the holiday. You don't have to do all the trips, but if you change your mind and decide you want to, your tour manager can help you.

I say take the plunge and book your first holiday... but be warned, travelling this way is addictive!!

Good Luck

Hi

I started travelling with JY aged 58 years. Have done seven trips with another planned for September. I have dine a mixture of long haul and trips to places in Europe I have not visited before. The age range has varied but my fellow travellers have predominantly been in their mid 50s to early 80s with more women than men. If you prefer a less structured holiday then maybe an escape holiday would suit you. I prefer to do touring holidays so that I see as much of the country as possible.

My advice is pick a holiday and go for it.

Hope this helps

Hi

All I have to say is go ahead and book a holiday that takes your fancy. There is no need to worry about age when travelling with Just You. You will be travelling with like minded people of all ages and have plenty of fun along the way. I would just give one warning - travelling with Just You is very addictive and you will want to book another holiday on your return! Go on, take the plunge. Life is too short so enjoy whilst you can.

Hi

I agree with Jaya, after your first trip you will wonder why you put it off for so long and be looking for your next one. Pick somewhere you would really love to see and you will be travelling with some lovely people and you will only be alone if you want to be. As for age I have travelled with people who are in there 70's and the energy they display is amazing.

Hi

Definitely go for it I was 54 when I went on my first Just You holiday and I'm 65 this year and have been away with them every year (at least once) I have also booked for May next year. The friendly experience starts at the airport. Make sure you have your just you label on your hand luggage and it won't be long till a fellow traveller finds you and the holiday starts there.
