I am going on the Epic Peru with Amazon add-on on June 13th. Please advise whether or not anti malarials are required for this trip? I was planning on getting a three day supply for the Amazon but would welcome advise. Thanks

Hi Penelope,

I hope you're well and looking forward to your forthcoming holiday!

Unfortunately, we are unable to advise on this. We would always recommend that you visit your local GP or practice nurse who will able to provide you the most up-to-date guidance and relate any recommended vaccinations/anti-malarials to your individual health requirements.

Kindest regards

Elisa

If you do need to take malarials, tablets need to taken some days before you arrive in the malarous area and for a week after leaving. It's best to take advice for your GP practice.

When I went 3 years ago people didn' bring any and had to go to a chemist and try and get some which were quite expensive. The Travel nurse at your local practice can advise you so worth checking on your jabs also.Malerone can be purchased without a prescription from Tesco or Asda type pharmacies after a quick consultation
