Hi Deb,

Don't worry about the lack or replies - only a minority of JY customers use the forum!  If you like, you can ask Monty who moderates the forum how many are booked, their age range, male/female split etc to find out a bit more about your fellow travellers.  Hope you have a great time on this tour, which I thoroughly enjoyed in Sept 2014.

All the best,

Bob

Hi, I've just booked this trip; my first time with JY too. So far, seems like I'm the only fella going. I've booked the 3 excursions but not the add-ons. Looking forward to it immensely.

I live near London so if anyone going in September wants to meet up for coffee ahead of the holiday, it would be good to catch up.

That would be really nice, unfortunately much as I like my tea/coffee it's a bit far for me. I'm in Wales.

On another thread Monty has given this information for our trip.

There are 28 travellers booked on the China leg of the tour, with 11 of these extending their holiday with the Hong Kong add-on. The ages range from the late-teens up the mid-80's, with 18 women and 10 men in the group.

OMG I have just returned from this trip, and it was amazing, fabulous, brilliant, breathtaking.  Fantastic experience, so much to do and see, I had the time of my life, and what an amazing group.  All tour operators very knowledgeable. From Great Wall, to warriors and pandas, Shanghai by night, just a truly amazing experience.

Hotels all excellent and definitely five star or even more.   My first adventure with Just You, and definitely not the last.   Karen 🙂

Hi Karen,

I'm delighted you had such a great time in China!  It really is an action packed tour isn't it?!  But so worth it, I think we saw so much of China and learned so much about its history and culture.  Hope you're already planning your next JY tour!

Best wishes,

Bob

Oh Yes Bob it is action packed, and very early starts, but would never have seen as much if we hadn't started early. It was amazing and I definitely will be looking at another trip, although I don't know if I could beat this one 🙂

Well Karen, if this is any encouragement to you - I've done 12 JY tours and although I loved the China tour, I've definitely enjoyed a lot of other JY tours even more - they are that good!

Cheers,

Bob

Good to hear you had such a great time; this will be my first JY trip too.

1 question: did you have to have any inoculations before going to China? and any advice you can share about the trip? Thanks.

Sounds like a really mixed group then. Only 126 days to go according to my countdown clock!

Hi Phil. I'm travelling from Bristol too. Not sure how yet. Maybe coach or I might get a lift with friends. Really excited about it though!

Hi, yeah you do need injections, but just book with nurse and she will tell you the ones you need, The toilets in most places apart from Shanghai were a hole in the floor, but we got used to it.   Don't need to much money as all included, I did one extra excursion which was in Shanghai acrobats which is not to be missed, it was an amazing show. The food was good, we even had a couple of subways to break up the Chinese food. Drinks in first three hotels reasonable, but Shanghai very expensive, but to be honest don't have a lot of free time to spend your own money.  You will have the most amazing time, Great Wall, Largest Buddha, Forbidden City, Pandas and Shanghai by night were highlights and of course the Terrocotta Army, just amazing and breathtaking.

Kind Regards Karen

I'm not too far away from you both either, in south Wales.

Karen: Thanks for the info. Really looking forward to this trip.

Hi back Deb. Wow. Two from Bristol!! It'll be good to meet you. Who knows, we may end up travelling on the same coach to Heathrow. That is how I plan to travel. Good thing that it is an evening flight. All day to get there. Sounds fantastic doesn't it

Hi Phil. Let me know when you've booked your coach. It's most likely I will be travelling by coach now so it would be good to have a travelling companion. Heathrow is the bit I'm most nervous about!
