I've just booked my first J Y holiday to the States. It will be for me a once in a life time holiday. I have decided to do the Route 66 because it includes the Grand Canyon. I would like to hear from anyone who has been on this trip or who would be going. I start my trip on the 21st of September I know it would be cooler then.

Hi Garry,

I did route 66 3 years ago and its a cracking trip (as a lot of the touring holidays are). My trip was the first year JY did route 66 and I believe they have tweaked it slightly since then (for the better).

Any specific question please ask.

September is a good time to visit the States (if you avoid the gulf coast), you should still get some warm weather although some places may need a light jacket or fleece in the evening (possibly Chicago due to its location and Flagstaff due to altitude).

Hi Garry

I was on the same trip as Mick and it's a brilliant tour. So many great places along the way. The best part for me was the Grand Canyon. It was epic and left me lost for words.

We went in October and the weather was fine apart from driving to Oklahoma where we passed through an almighty storm. Definitely an experience and credit to our driver Enrique for keeping it is on the road.

You will love this trip from start to finish.

Paul

Thank you for the reply Mick & Littlepaul

I think I've made the right choice. The high light of my trip will be the Grand Canyon I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon from a young age.

It will be the Grand Voyager SBW-5. Once in a life time opportunity plus will be my first time in a helicopter should be a fantastic day and a remarkable trip. I'm so looking foward to the day I fly out.
