Ok for me and this is just my opinion it is this, we are only In the room to sleep and wash so therefor I don't get to hung up on rooms as long as they are clean and there is clean bed linen and towels I am happy.

My worst room was Tuscany others had much better than I did, but the hotel was placed near a lovely village you could walk to and the beach was across the road so I quickly forgot about my room, many rooms in the USA have been HUGE, on my last tour in September, in one hotel I had two huge beds, a kitchen, huge bathroom that actually had a bath to get into, and a sitting room fantastic, in one of the hotels on the NZ tour and there were so many hotels, one was rather dated, but in that room I had two double beds and a single bed HUGE room,

For me the holiday is about what I am seeing and doing and who I am meeting more that what the room is like, yes I like comfort and a high standard now I am a certain age! But I can settle with clean and tidy and small if I have to.

I am due to go in my 11th JY tour so have stayed in a huge amount of hotels

Thats not saying all have been perfect but the vast majority have been fine, some very good and a couple not up to scratch.

Thats over 12 holidays 5 of which have been tours so would estimate that i've stayed in somewhere between 30 & 40 hotels with JY.

I have been travelling with JY since 2010. I have to agree with Sarahs that some of the hotels on the two USA tours I have done were disappointing but others were of a good standard. I stayed in a four star rated hotel in Italy last year and it did not live up to what I would regard as this grade of hotel! My Italian neighbour told me that four stars can be awarded if a hotel has a lift and a terrace!!. The problem with star ratings seems to be that there is no universal system and you can not compare like for like.

Overall, hotels used on my JY holidays have been fine. The best were in China and India.

hi, well im soon going to book with JUST YOU, just wanted to know if all the rooms/accommodation are as good as the ones you would get on a normal holiday booking for two? I have read in reviews before that some rooms were not up to scratch, or hotels were off the beaten track? one thing I like is a nice room, I know we are not in it long but if I pay good money I like a nice hotel/room/, these companies state there is no single supplement, when there obviously is as we pay almost double, BUT I know we get all the extras/tour guide, ect ect/ so im not complaining, would just like to know before I book, so is there any hotels/rooms you loved? and is there any you didn't like and why? this information or tips would be great to know for future bookings. im going to book holidays on here anyway, and I look forward to meeting you all on my travels x

The best hotel I stayed in was Grand Hotel San Michele, Calabria. Room was good, clean, and double. The hotel really is something special. You are treated like a family guest, not a room number.

Wherever you go you will get a double or twin room to yourself, and not a single broom cupboard on the back stairs. Hotels are often on the edge of towns, that was the drawback with Calabria, but there was only one day when there was time to go into Cetraro and the hotel laid on a minibus.

In Albi the hotel was good. French plumbing worked, again a double room. Apulia the hotel was good, but thin walls to the rooms let it down, at least as far as I was concerned. Apart from Calabria, I stayed in the Hotel Caesius Thermae & Spa in Bardolino, Lake Garda, not a JY holiday, and why this was only 4* not 5 I shall never know. The bedroom was vast, with a balcony, and there was room to dance in the bathroom.

Check websites and do your research. You should be able to check the hotel's own website and see what you think.

One good thing I like about this website is that there is lots going on and it is well used. Lots of reviews on here and the facility to search if you want to look at reviews for a particular place/hotel.

a mixed bag - some great hotels, some not so great. I've only twice been driven

to complain (not JY!), one company was very decent about it; the other

company didn't want to know. Guess which one I'll never use again!

In my opinion, things can sometimes go wrong, but customer service is everything.

The test of a good company is how they respond. I have the feeling that JY are

very responsive to their clients' views.

There are some countries where the standard of hotels is very basic - but this would be pointed out

before you book.

Hold on to your sense of adventure - sometimes a less-than-great hotel can turn out to be a

good source of fun and amusement!

Hi there, just replied to you on other holiday site. Ive booked to go to Costa de la Luz in Portugal in September, the hotel looks fabulous and I have had very good reviews given to me, its all inclusive and some good trips are included. I have been on JY for many years and all the hotels that I have been to have been excellent, no problems.;)

Value for money is also important. We singles do pay a premium, even with JY. I would hesitate to recommend a hotel, as a lot depends on individual preferences. Personally, I do like my comfort. Also, if the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, I want it be within easy and safe walking distance of decent places to eat, something JY need to seriously consider given that the majority of their customers are ladies.

On the point of how a company deals with complaints, I had 1 JY holiday in the 12 that was dreadful in every way. My letter of complaint was dealt with promptly and I received significant compensation plus a lovely bunch of flowers. This is why I keep coming back.

Cilento Coast. I have been here twice and specifically asked for the same room the last time I went. I got it! Lovely room, comfortable bed, but all the rooms are fairly similar I think and the good thing is that you don't have to pay extra for the balcony.

Istrian Coast (Rabac). No balcony sadly but I wasn't prepared to pay extra for what I knew would only be a very partial sea view at best.

Highlights of Tuscany. Basic room, very clean and good bathroom. No balcony.

Slovenia Mountains and Coast. 1st hotel near Bled had the desired balcony and looked out on the forest which is what I had asked for. Very old furniture and somewhat shabby looking. 2nd hotel in Portoroz had a balcony and was smart but somewhat clinical. No extra charge for balconies.

Costa de la Luz. I specifically asked for a front sea view with balcony and paid extra for it. Very clean. Dark in bathroom area.

I have been to New Orleans twice. Last trip was in November and we stayed near the Convention Centre. So far out of town that you had to get a taxi back. The first time we stayed at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and it was great as we were just off Bourbon Street so walked everywhere even taking in the ghost tours which we could not do out at the Convention Centre.

I think my biggest problem whichever country I have been in is the showers. Usually have to get someone to show me how to work the stupid things :P
