Hi all, I have just booked my first 'Just You' holiday for Discover Vietnam for March 2015.

just wondering if many people were thinking off going and if there's anything I should know about before I go.

Many thanks in advance. Helen

Hi Helen, I went to Vietnam in Feb 2013 and had a brilliant holiday - I wrote a review of it, so if you go to the Reviews section and scroll down a page or two you should come across it.

Hope you have a great time!

Best wishes,

Bob

I went to Vietnam with Just You in 2011 and it was one of the best trips I have been on. However you do need to be very careful with your belongings and I would defiantly recommend some kind of security wallet worn under your clothing.

Crossing the road in Vietnam is a very interesting experience and on the last night of the trip I went on two women had their bag stolen by people on motorbikes. If your passport is stolen you cannot return home until you get a temporary replacement and this can take a few days.

Please do not let this put you off this holiday. It is a wonderful place to visit but you just need to be a little careful.

Hi Helen, I've had a few jabs over the last few years for different places, so the best thing you can do is check with your local health centre and see what is needed for the Vietnam tour - better safe than sorry! Regarding safety, I felt perfectly safe in Vietnam and none of our group had any problems - one of the many bonuses of travelling with a group is that it is the safest way to travel. Having said that, I'd advise you to be careful as you would anywhere and do not flaunt your valuables and I'm sure you will be fine.

Best wishes,

Bob

Hello there. I'm thinking of going to Vietnam in 2015 and have also been asking for hints and tips. What dates in March have you booked and I'll have a look at those times?

HI Helen

I am traveling to Vietnam on 19th March 2015 it is my first long haul holiday though I have done a number of single holidays to Europe. I normally fly from Manchester so Heathrow is a first as well.

The replies you have received are very positive I am sure we will have a great time.

Can anyone give me some tips on what clothes are essential to pack?

Gwyneth

Hi Helen

It is my first holiday with JY and I have booked to go to Vietnam on the 19th March.

I usually fly from Manchester so Heathrow and long haul are both new experiences for me though I have done a number of singles holidays in Europe.

Can anyone give me some hints on what to pack clothes wise.

Thanks

Hi it might be a bit cooler in the north, but I'd say pack plenty of T-shirts and shorts, with some long sleeved tops and trousers just in case. Apart from Hanoi and Halong Bay, I wore shorts throughout. It might still be very warm or even hot in the evenings too, especially if you are doing Cambodia as well. Make sure you pack insect repellent with DEET - although the only mossie I saw was in Hoi An, lots of sun cream, tummy medicine just in case and rehydration salts! As I've said before, this is a wonderful holiday so I hope you enjoy every minute.

All the best,

Bob
