I went to Andalucia last year and really enjoyed it. The places we visited would probably be good for you if you are keen a keen photographer - Ronda, the Alhambra, Gibraltar, not forgetting Mijas itself which is a lovely, little village on the hillside with great views down to the Med.
It was also my first holiday on my own and my first with JY. I will definitely book up another one at some point now that I am over the first hurdle!
