Hi all. I am thinking of going on holiday for Christmas. I am not sure which one to choose. I quite like the idea of some winter sun but there is a limited amount of warm destinations. Anyone with some suggestions for a sunny or alternative Christmas break??

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

Last Christmas, I booked the Golden West tour over Christmas and New Year expecting warmth and sun in California. Guess what...? We landed in San Fran in the worst storm they'd had in 20 years and, though it did brighten up a little - the winter sun idea was short lived!

It hasn't put me off looking for the same though - I'd still like some sun but can't find very much on offer.

Go with with what interests you most, I'd say and if you get sun - that's a bonus!

If you come across anything that sounds good - do let me know.;)

Good luck to you

Dido.

Hi Tony,

I went to Lake Como last year for a Christmas break. The hotel, company, food, etc. were fantastic, super Tour Manager and lots of different places to visit.

However, the weather could have been kinder ~~ it rained all Christmas Day but since the Christmas Dinner (all 8 courses!!) began at 12.00 noon and finished at about 4.30, it didn't really matter too much.

This year I've opted for Andalucía. Don't know what the weather will be like but who cares.................

Denise.

My Christmas with Just You in Andalucia was very warm and sunny for the duration. We didn't need coats/jackets at any time. It was perfect for a warm winter holiday.

Hi Tony

I've been to the Italian Dolomites & Croatia in 2011 and Lake Bled (Slovenia) last year. Also went to Iceland for New Year in 2010.

I'm warming towards Marrakech for Christmas 2013 but possibly with a rival company as the holiday is longer and includes a few walks around Marrakech and the Atlas mountains.

Plenty of time to decide....?!

Happy holidays

Hi Florette,

Thanks for your post about the weather in Andalucía at Christmas. I guess I won't need to be taking an all-weather jacket, such as I took to Lake Como!!

Regards,

Denise.
