Hi, I've never travelled with JY before and am thinking of Christmas already! What was your China at Christmas with JY like? Was the cold bearable? Was it a really bad time of the year to visit China? How many people were in the group? Is JYa good bet for a China tour?

I'm wondering too about group numbers. If you're a JY veteran, what's the smallest/highest group number? I have a friend who thought she joined a tour group to Egypt. It turned out to be just herself and one other and she felt uncomfortable and bored throughout the week.

What are tour members like? Do they behave like stag/hen nighters?

Sorry so many questions. I've been travelling with another agency for several years, very well organised, excellent, but the group average age is 75, I would prefer to travel with people in their 50s and 60s. What is the average age of JY travellers?

Thanks!!! 🙂 KT

Hi KT it sounds like JY would be perfect for you! If you scroll down and read some of the posts (especially on the Share your Travel Tips forum) you will see that most JY folks are in their 50s-60s with older and younger as well. Most are very well behaved! Tour sizes are usually in the 20-40 range and are escorted throughout. Most tours have excusrions on offer every day (some included, some are optional) and your tour manager will always have some suggestions for you on how to fill your free time.

Can't say too much about the China tour as I haven't done it yet - I'm hoping to do it next year. However I have looked at many different tour operators and the JY Inspirational China tour is very comprehensive and as all meals are included you'd never be on your own - unless you wanted to be. I reckon it would be cold all right - just google "China climate" or look at Wikipedia and you'll get more info. In conclusion, all I'd say is if you think you'd like to do it, just go for it and I'm sure you won't regret it!

All the best,

Bob

Hi KT

Bob has answered most of your queries. All I would like to add is that travelling with Just You is never boring. You will have a wonderful time. If you really fancy a trip to China, then do go ahead and book it. I can assure you that you will have no regrets.

Regards

Jaya

Hello,

China was my first long haul holiday with JY and I can thoroughly recommend. It is a truly fascinating country and you most definately will not be bored - tired certainly - but not bored. The JY programme does involve a lot of travelling because China is such a large country, but you really need to see all the different cultures and sights.

I cannot comment on the weather at the end of the year but, as Bob has suggested, you can Google to find out more.

You will not regret going!

Regards

David.

Hello KTD.

I've jusy come back from the JY tour of Inspirational China, it it was wonderful, awesome & the it was a good group of 33 travellers to be with.

Another correspondent has given you an accurate idea of the age range & my experience of long-haul tours is that travellers tend to muck in together, because the want to see places &also not generally looking for romance, although it can happen.

I can't speak for the temperature @ Xma., our weather was generally quite good.

Regards,

Richard.
