Hi I' m currently thinking about trying a singles holiday, there are so many places I would like to visit and although I have some lovely friends for different reasons they can't always come with me, I've been divorced eight years and while there are some things I'm happy to do on my own, I would feel more secure in a group of like minded people. It would be great to hear from anyone who has recently been on their first trip and could tell me about your experience.

Hello Chocolat.

I had a trip to Luxembourg in 2010. It was a short trip by coach as I wanted to see if it worked for me and didn't want to travel too far. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the tour manager the same and as you mentioned, above, I did feel secure and had nothing to worry about. I've booked my second trip to Canada in September as a result.

Hope you decide to book something.

Kind regards

Ann

I took my first solo holiday with JY in 2010 and went to China, and I've not looked back since and have had some wonderful holidays. You are so well looked after and everything is taken care of on your behalf that you just need to sit back and enjoy the experience. You'll have lots of fun and will be with like minded people who travel alone for a variety of reasons, I've made some new friends since I've been travelling with JY. Take the plunge you won't regret it.

Hi

Why don't you pick a destination you always wanted to visit and just go ahead and book it. You will have no regrets. Travelling with Just You is safe and you are looked after from start to finish. You get an opportunity to meet lots of people and see wonderful sights. My first trip with Just You was in September 2009 to Jordan and since then I have had 3 more holidays. Life is too short - just go ahead and take the plunge.

Hi,

I agree with Jaya and the others. Life's too short. Also, a lot of people are nervous the first time they use JY because i think people have this impression that it will be link a blind date, however in the end you're all their to enjoy a holiday, not discuss your life stories (although sometimes that happens naturally). If you look at the important thread, there is a testimonial from someone in a similar position- it might help you.

Thanks

Mark

Hello there.

If you read "New Dave's" post regarding his first experience I am sure that you will pluck up the courage and book a break. Just You is an excellent way to travel with "like minded" companions. Not only do you share the delights of the destination you also can make lasting friendships.

I am off to the Cilento Coast next month and this will be my fourth trip with Just You.

Good luck in your travels wherever you decide.

Mel

Also don't forget is always a good mix of people on a JY hol - granted most are in their 50s and 60s but younger and older than this too. The people vary in backgrounds as well, from all parts of the UK and further away (I'm from Ireland); JY folks are single, widowed, divorced, co-habiting and happily married - and thankfully I've never seen a hint of romance on any JY hol!! I've been on five JY hols with my 6th booked and on each one I'd say around half of the travellers have been on their first JY hol, so there will be many in the same position as you - certainly not all will be seasoned travellers or even seasoned JYers! As Jaya said, think about where you'd like to go - perhaps somewhere in Europe for your first tour so not too much travelling is involved and you find your feet (I did Analucia for my first JY and loved it). This inspired me to go further afield and see some of the world, as I'd wanted to do for many years. Since then I've done America's Golden West, South Africa/Zambia (best holiday ever!), India, South America (with Travelsphere) and most recently Vietnam/Cambodia. Every holiday has been wonderful, well planned and pretty much stress free. I can't wait for my next JY hol!

Cheers,

Bob
