Hi, I have a dilemma that maybe some of you can help with. I can't decide between Highlights of Tuscany and Croatia's Istrian Coast for next year. I want to do them both equally but can't afford to do both. Tuscany seems better value as there are 3 excursions included in the price visiting Pisa, Florence and Siena. Croatia has only one excursion included, making it a rather expensive 'package' holiday...but the optionals include Venice! Has anyone been on both of these tours? Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

Hi Jean,

How bizzare, i am currently in a similar predicament, apart from i am considering the new croatia tour. Having done the Istrian Coast tour, i can say that it is generally quite cheap. Everything costs roughly the same as a Tesco in England! When i went on this the tour to Venice was on the same day as Plitvice National Park. I went to Plitvice but speaking to others Venice is great, but a very early start!

I thoroughly recommend either. A few of the tours were included in my trip to the Istrian Coast so optional excursions didnt amount to that much but all holidays have gone up this year.

Hope this helps. Any questions let me know.

Hello Jean I am new to Just you holidays.

I was looking at Tuscany last night. I have never been myself although, I am trying to find the courage to book. My parent's toured with Travelsphere several times to Italy including Tuscany they had a wonderful time!

Hello and thanks for the replies. Cindy, yes I've read on several of your posts how much you enjoyed Tuscany. Mark, I looked at the new Croatia tour but I went to the Dubrovnik area 3 years ago (loved it) so wanted to see a different part of the country. It's good that you want to go back too. Angel-49 I hope you book soon. I did my first JY tour last year to Cilento Coast. It was a wonderful holiday so don't hold back! I think I'm edging towards Croatia simply because people seem to be saying go now before the country joins euroland next summer! Perhaps Tuscany in 2014!

Hi Jean. Can't comment on the Tuscany trip, but the Istria one is wonderful. Yes there is only one included trip but it includes visits to Porec, Pula and Rovinji as well as a stop off for a good feed so its a good trip. Plenty of time in each destination too. Rabac is lovely and the hotel is very good. And yes it was cheaper than the usual. I kind of want to do the new Croatia trip although I went to Makarska years ago but like you am a little concerned on how much the country joing the EEU will affect things. Does anyone here know whether they are defintely adopting the Euro or not?

I believe that although it will join the EU in 2013, no decision has been taken on adopting the Euro let alone a start date if it ever happens.

Hi,

I have just returned from the Croatia Istrian Coast tour and have to say, that taking everything into consideration, overall it is the best JY holiday I have had ( out of 4 in the past two years - including Tuscany) The hotel in Rabac was excellent and well deserved it's 4 stars - very comfortable, good service and brilliant JY host, lovely coastal views and good food &, service. It is a very beautiful coastline and the Venice trip was amazing. The included trip was very interesting and enjoyable and there are a few more inexpensive trips on offer ( e.g.) day boat trip inc. lunch for £20 etc. For me, the hotel in Tuscany was disappointing, very basic with little to do in the resort. Also, it was more expensive that the Croatia trip. I would say - if you want to beat the expense of the euro - visit Croatia next year -while the prices are still low - it is a really lovely place.

Whichever trip you choose I hope you enjoy it. I was so impressed with the Istrian Coast that I am considering booking the new trip for next year. I had a holiday on Brac (nr Split) in June (with another holiday company) but I found the Istrian Coast far more beautiful and with more interest.

Kind regards

Carol

Thanks again for all your comments. Croatia now booked for May! Perhaps Tuscany in 2014.
