I am an English man retired and living in Cyprus planning to get out and about during 2012. I usually plan my vacations based on sailing which is my passion. Now though I want to try something different but don't want to travel alone at 62 although fit and healthy I am probably safer in the company of others than exploring alone in strange locations. Plus of course the company of other like minded individuals is a big bonus.

I am wondering about travelling to the uk and then possibly taking a coach trip to test the waters although the longer trips look more interesting. One big disadvantage is that I like to get away on a few different occasions but especially escape from the heat in Cyprus during August. It seems that just you doesn't offer trips in August.

Anyone booked trips or have suggestions?

How lovely to live in Cyprus...There are not many holidays in August as this is main school holidays and they tend to cost quite a bit more also you have lots of little people about!!!..

I have now done 8 JY Tours, from Newzealand to Austria and all in between. I would say to you to really have a good look at what is on offer and just to pick the holiday that tugs at your heart strings, or if there is a dream holiday then go for it.. they are great fun at 62 you will be perfect age to have a great time.
