Hi

I have not been to Israel , but have already booked the October trip[ and am looking forward to it very much. Always wanted to see Jerusalem and Bethlehem. I did post a mail sometime ago asking the same question as you, but did not get any rsponse. Hopefully someone who has been will respond and give some feedback and tips.

British Airways fly direct to Tel Aviv from Manchester. It's a great country to go to.

I believe you would still be able to the "JY holidays" but book your own flights - I'm sure the customer services would be able to confirm/advise on this. When I did Israel, there were people who flew from Manchester & Cypus.

Jaya

Hope you have a good time. Just a forewarning, I flew from Heathrow. Before checking in, you get asked questions by security. I got a bit of a grilling because I had a Syrian stamp in my passport.

Thank you for your reply arranging my own flight and going to the hotel would be a bit daunting on my own.I have found a holiday to Israel from Manchester but it is not singles as yet not booked. I wish Just You could arrange more holidays from Manchester it does narrow it down where I can go.

Hello Diane,

Anna is correct that we may be able to arrange your flight from Manchester for you. If you give our contact centre a call and explain your situation, they will tell if this is possible for your tour. Call them on 0844 567 8844.

I hope you get to go, I would like to go myself one day!

Kind regards, Sally-Anne, your editor

I have opted to fly from Luton with Easyjet. Had to pay a flight supplement though. Hopefully I will not get 'grilled' at the airport as I have only visited Jordan in the Middle East! Just out of interest, do they stamp an 'Israeli' stamp on your passport when you arrive in Israel? Asking as this may cause some problems travelling to some other countries. I am looking forward to the trip very much.

Hi

I am interested in going to the middle east. Are there any jabs that I would need to take before hand? And I've heard that when in some parts of Israel you need to wear a shrowl/scarf around your head.

Hi Jaya

I hope you don't have any problems at the airport I couldn't face changing planes and also the added expense when you could fly from Manchester with another company but it is not singles.I believe you are up at 6 for the trips so being couples will not bother me.

Regards

Di

Glad you've managed to get a flight - you'll have a great time.

Yes you'll get a stamp in your passport. They may ask a few questions about Jordon.

Your doctor/nurse will be able to advise what jabs you need (I've had most of them from previous trips)

The wailing wall - you will need your arms covers but nothing for your head

No jabs needed, yes arms need to be covered for Holy places. All the food in Israel is grown there they don't import from anywhere so the fruit and veg are fantastic. There are alot of stands selling Pomegranate juice which is wonderful. Book it you won't be disappointed.
