:)Hi Everybody - I haven't been on this group before but I'm really curious because I want to go on holiday by myself. And while I'm not anti-social and of course I will meet people, I want to go by myself. Then I can do what I like and when I like and really explore and relax. I like to walk and see nice old towns - art history - don't like heat much. I don't suppose anyone has recommendations for places that are really good for going alone for someone like me? I'm female and in my 50s so fairly invisible, which is good!

I went on the Highlights of Tuscany tour last September which you might like to consider if you like art history, interesting places and stunning architecture. Our tour guide provided us with maps of each of the towns we visited together with his contact number should you need it. We had one elderly lady in the group who preferred to search out places on her own rather than stay with everyone else for the guided tours. I have done 2 holidays with JY have thoroughly enjoyed both and have booked with them again this year. Hope you enjoy your experience with JY which ever holiday you choose.

Hi c.ay.ee, think I'm a bit like you (age wise and I wanted to go on holiday by myself but also be in a group) - anyway my first JY holiday was Parks and Canyons in Sep 2010, met some fab ladies, who I would now call friends and we've since met up on other JY holidays (Lake Garda and Bruges) and are meeting up again on the Canada/New England tour. The Bruges tour may be worth considering as on day 1 the group did a city tour together in the morning, and the Sat afternoon and Sun it's free time, the hotel is a short walk from the sights and it really is 'beautiful Bruges', so you can be on your own if you wish. The group ate together every evening, but again if you don't want to join the group, you can do your own thing, but we had a laugh when all together. There are a lot of tours to choose from, so have fun choosing. Karen.
