hi there all,

first things first, i should explain that i am writting this from a foreign keyboard. i keep hitting the wrong buttons so i am going to skip correct grammar so please bear with me!

a few things about myself.

i am 24 years old and currently live in melton mowbray (please no one mention the flippin pies!). i have a very close but select group of friends as i find i have very little time for people who annoy me! i also have very close family and love them dearly.

i work behind a bar and actually really enjoy it. if i was to tell a 15 year old version of myself this she would laugh!

having tried holidays with family and friends i find them very frustrating. when one person is upset it brings the whole group down, not everyone wants to do the same thing, some people bringing more money than others, some being less adventurous than others etc etc etc.

i am not a nightclub kind of person so that rules me out of most holidays that other people my age might go on (also the fact that i am very much a heavy metal fan means nightclubs are my idea of hell!).

so as my parents would put it next year i am planning to "bugger off on my own" and see if traveling as a single person will work for me.

as of yet i have no idea where i want to go. i only know that i like almost any weather, to relax more than sports, i enjoy good food and would like to meet new like minded people.

any help with ideas would be very much appreciated.

xxxxx

cheers!

Hi There...

I have done 7 tours with 8th booked for 2012, I have done short and long haul holidays, I love to do touring have done 3 USA tours they are very action back but so worthwhile. 1 Kenya Safari just amazing, and 3 shorter holiday Tuscany , Austrian Lakes,Poland and Tatra Mountains, with New Zealand booked for 2012.

You would be in the younger range and the core group is I would say 55-70 with younger and older either side. Ladies allways outnumber the Men.

Great holidays to see and do and great people to meet along the way.

Hi Chivers87 (I am sure you have a first name - is it a secret?)

and welcome to Just You.

I reckon you have come to the right place (just made for those who want to 'bugger off' on their own")

Wel, there must be somewhere where you have always wanted to go. Well now you can - so take a look at the holidays that you fancy and book one. It really is that easy. Long-haul, short-haul, - makes no difference. You just get on a plane or a coach - sorted! The World is your oyster.....

We have all done the 'first time trip' and everyone in your group will have 'done that, been there' so you won't be alone. There really is nothing holding you back. There are some fantastic places out there just waiting for you to discover.

The age range varies on any trip but it's never a problem. Your tour manager will take very good care of you - make sure you don't feel left out etc.and I guarantee you will make some new friends.

Good luck (not that you will need it) - have a great holiday,

Be happy,

Best wishes,

Lesley

PS: I have a friend who lives in Melton Mowbray (met on a JY holiday 2 years ago) Crackin place!!! We met up yesterday.....

Hi, I did my first JY tour this year, it was my first foreign holiday as a single traveller...I did the America's Golden West tour, which was fantastic, it's quite hectic, lots of early starts but soooo worth it. The ages ranged from 21 to 80...I'm 44 so was somewhere in the middle, but everyone was a good laugh and I loved it. Also, as a fellow rocker, whilst staying in Palm Springs we found one of the main bars had a resident rock band playing....which was fantastic. I found it so exciting and liberating to go on this type of holiday...there's company if you want it, but you can also go off alone if you'd prefer for some alone time. I found most people were like-minded and great to get along with, I wish I'd done it years ago...I've just booked to go to Vietnam with JY...so take the plunge and go for it! Regards Caroline

I've done about 10 JY holidays and all have been fab (am going to Israel tomorrow). I've done places like India, China, Peru.

Ages ranges have been 30's to last 70's and women outnumber men but don't let this put you off.

Group sizes smallest been 13 largest been 40. People generally get on. If you want to mix with people or have time on your own, you're never be judged. People want different things from their holiday and everyone respects other peoples decisions!

Pick a holiday that appeals to you whether long or short haul.
