Hi

Can anyone tell me if I need Rabies injections for Kenya. I know about the normal recommendations but I have been advised to get the Rabies ones as well. What have others done?

I have done the Magic of Kenya holiday last Oct, I had many injections but NO!!!!! to the rabies I was not offered it and it was never mentioned. I never heard of that injection at all on the tour. I would check with your doctor or the nurse that looks after this side of things at the surgery. See what they recomend.

When I went on the Kenya trip we did not need Rabies, but you will need anti-malaria pills. Talk to your GP.

Hi Jan,

I'm going on the Magic of Kenya on 28/09 and not been told I need any injections against Rabies. Just had Yellow Fever and previously had a list of others like Typhoid so now need to sort out which Malaria tablets to have. I hope this is helpful.

I went last year and never had "Rabies" injection, However you can now go online to "Travelpharm" and they will assess you for your Malaria Tablets and then you can Purchase and do not need a Doctors Certificate, I received an email from them the other day stating this. It's worth a look.Malarone was suggested by my Doctor and he wanted £3.50 per tablet and I purchased at "Travelpharm" for £2.25 each. it will be even cheaper if you don't need a prescription also there is free postage. I have also recommended lots of people to this Company.

I hope you all have a Wonderful time it's truly a Wonderful Adventure and if you have time Pop in to the Orphanage (Tumaini) and take some gifts you will be most Welcome the Concierge at Hotel in Mombasa will give you directions, only of course if you are having the add on.

I am off soon for my 13th trip with JY and must admit I have never looked back except for a few,but the good outweighs the bad by far. The Orphanage stole my heart and I am now off to work there next year for 3 weeks and have done lots of fund-raising so far £440.

they have a wish list and will be helping to make some of those wishes come true , I hope. !!!!!
