I haven't booked this yet, but hope to do it over the next couple of years. If you scroll down through the previous threads you will see a couple of posts about this hol, it sounds wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful time and be sure to let us know how you got on!

Hello Carol

I am going on this trip. It is my fifth singles holiday.

I am sorry to hear that you are recently widowed. It took me 2 years after my wife died to pluck up the courage to go on my first holiday on my own but I have really enjoyed all my trips. Everyone I have met on these holidays has been really friendly. All you have to do is get yourself to Heathrow and after that you will be well looked after by the tour manager and your fellow travellers who look after each other.

I am now looking for a good deal on a hotel and parking near the airport.

Hi,

I am booked on this holiday and really looking forward to it. I'll be travelling up from the south west the night before the flight. This will be my second Just You Holiday but have also been to China on an escorted tour where it was not specifically for solo travellers. Both really enjoyable.

It will be good to hear from others on this holiday.

Hi Jenny which China tour did you do? I'm thinking about doing the Travelsphere Discover China trip next year and would be interested to hear how you found your trip, especially as I would be mainly travelling with couples!

BGray,

I did the Splendours of China Tour with Virgin Holidays. it is in the worldwide brochure. It was very organised and covered a lot of ground. the places visited were Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing, Xian, Chengdu (for pandas) and Guilin. there was an option of extending with a stay in Hong Kong however this was not escorted. when i went it was a large there was a good mix of people traveling with another solo traveller, friends travelling together and couples. the mix was nice and i never felt awkward being on my own. in china on most tours the meals are taken together on large round tables. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour. But any tour will be worth while as china is a fantastic place to visit. Also i was able to use Tesco club card vouchers to get a good deal on the holiday.

Hi,

I thought I had posted a reply to this but it hasn't shown up. hope it isn't because I am mentioning another company! I did the Virgin Holiday Splendours of China Tour which was really good and I would recommend it (in the Virgin worldwide brochure). even though it is not just for solo traveller there was a nice mix of couples, several groups of friends travelling together and 2 solo's. Never did i feel out of place as a solo traveller. Whichever company you choose China is worth visiting the best holiday I have had so far.

Any questions just ask
