I'm not going on this particular trip but I do think Paris is a wonderful place to spend a weekend so I am rather envious. Have a great time.

I was in Paris for Bastille Day many years ago, and it was brill! Great fun. I can't remember if regular businesses, shops etc or the Metro were closed but I do remember what a good time I had. (Rather envious of you!)
