Hello Emma,
I shall be in Italy for June but you will love Marrakech. Did it 18 months ago with my daughter. She was 27 on the trip and the only trouble we had was from young lads saying 'I am your husband-remember me?' By the end of the 5 days we were getting to the point of talking in French, so that they did not know we were English/American. Cover your shoulders, be respectful to their customs and when bartering-60 % of their original cost. One guy was charged £30 for a tagine pot, you can buy them at home for a tenner! We bought loads of lamps/metalwork,clothes fit inside quite well. Do not eat salads or drink tap water. We wish we had gone to the Menara gardens-great views of the Atlas Mountains but we went to Majorelle which was beautiful. Use the small petit taxis and get a price first. The large cars are illegal (in our eyes) and charge what they want.
Just have fun, such a beautiful city-hot at 28 in November!!!!
Jan.
