Hi All you lucky people that are going to Texas in 2 1/2 weeks.

Just a 'small' problem I have. You must have received the 'Optional Excursions' notification by now. Now, I fancy doing them all but was wondering what others were doing with regard to the Rodeo Show. I'd hate to find myself all on my own because everyone else has booked a different one to me. So, please can anyone tell me whether it's the 'Standard Seating' or the 'VIP Tickets with Dinner'. Not bothered but I do like company.

Thanks

See you all at Heathrow

Hi Steve,

I am also looking forward to this holiday and had the same thoughts as you regarding the optional tours - don't want to end up sitting on my own if the rest of the group has decided to do something else! Perhaps Olly can let us know the numbers of any booked for either of the options on this particular excursion? I'm sure we would probably be able to book once there as well.

See you at Heathrow! Soon!

Jacqueline

Hi Steve,

Not on this trip but its a holiday I'm considering in the future mainly because I want to visit New Orleans sometime.

However I have been to San Antonio 3 years ago and its a fantastic place, the riverwalk is superb with loads of bars and restaurants. If you get chance vist the English Pub on the riverwalk called Mad Dogs but I suggest you starve yourself for a few days before if you eat there the portions are massive.

Another interesting place is the Buckhorn Museum whichis actually a Pub (yes you can eat and drink) with two museums one about the Texas Rangers and the other various animals (with horns).

Have a great trip

Hi Steve

Not long to go now, getting excited, I fancy doing all the excursions too, I am thinking about doing the VIP Tickets with Dinner, like you would like the company! See you soon.

I'll come with you Steve if you can bear to be seen with an Essex girl!! What did you think of the prices? I was pleasantly surprised, I thought they were really cheap compared to previous trips I've been on, especially the Ranch. That seems like good value :)

Just been checking the weather and it's 30C today in San Antonio, phew.

Just can't wait to get going now, only 2 and a half weeks. Not looking forward to the long flight though.

See you soon :)

Hi All

Me again. If its going to be o k I think I would prefer to book when we get there. Have always done that before, but I have never been offered pre-booking for the optional excursions. I fancy VIP tickets for the Rodeo and am also intrigued by the Ranch. The only thing is I have never been on a horse in my life and my Daughter says if I do manage to spend a morning on one I'll never walk properly for the rest of the holiday. I wonder if I will be allowed to come along and watch and just have the Western Lunch....I fancy that.

See you soon, (I'm the one with the new camcorder, just been and bought it).

Silver Spur Ranch is on youtube and looks lovely. Steve, I don't think you have to do the horse riding bit, not sure if I want to get on a horse either but I'd like to see the ranch.

I keep on checking the weather and it's pretty warm out there at the mo.

Be nice to see a bit of sunshine...not long now 17 days!! :)

Hi Jacqueline

Not long to go now, getting excited. Do you still want to meet up at the hotel the night before, what time?

See you soon.

Hi again

Think I'm sorted now. Shall be pre-booking the 'San Antonio River Parade' as apparently you have to. Think I will also book the 'Louisiana Swamp Tour' whilst at it 'cos I want to do that, then leave the others 'til we get there. Want to do them all but need to know what others are doing ref' 'Rodeo' and whether one can do the 'Ranch' without having to sit on a huge horse.

Jo, I spent 6 years after leaving school living in Essex so I can speak the language, sort of and I did the Canadian Rockies with Yvette last April/May and we saw at least 2 Black Bears. Definitely the best holiday I've had so far, but then that could change after Texas.

See you in 2 weeks.

Hello Everyone,

Wonder if you are all as excited as me!!? I've got three more days at work then I'm off until we leave.

I've booked to go on all of the excursions and have booked the dinner version of the Rodeo evening. Steve, I'll come with you too, we'll make sure no body is left on their own.

Looking forward to meeting you all at the airport - I'll be looking at everyones bags to see if you have a matching "Just You" label.

Yee haa! Here's to Texas!!

See you soon.

To me being in the 90's means its hot!!! I'll unpack my jerseys and put in shorts and t-shirt. As long as it doesn't rain I'll be happy. Is'nt it funny that the closer you get to going, time seems to stand still. I don't get a sleep on Wednesday night so its only 5 more sleeps for me.

See youi Thursday, still not sure about the horse riding, a car is far more comfortable.

Steve:rolleyes:
