Is anyone thinking of going to Lake Garda on June 21st. I haven't yet finally decided. I'm also thinking of going to the Opera though opera isn't really my thing, I'm sure it'll be dramatic, something to remember. Do I want a numbered seat? Does everybody do this?

Has anyone been before, what was it like?

Would be great to hear from anyone who's been there and those who, like me are thinking about it?

Am thinking of publishing a book this year and may include this trip as thoughts, views and experiences if it happens!

Hi Nicola

I was on the Lake Garda/Opera tour last summer and it was fabulous.

At the Opera the majority of the group opted for the seats on the stone steps rather than upgrading the tickets for the more comfortable seating areas. It wasn't particularly comfortable as I had made the mistake of buying a cushion outside the arena rather than inside, and you are sitting for more than 4 hours.. The group was split up as well as we were among the locals and other tourists. It was also quite high up but you got a good view of the stage and the set was amazing.

The numbered seats are lower down and on the floor of the arena in front of the stage. There was a short shower just after the first act but the Opera continued with shorter or no further intermissions upon the restart.

The night of the Opera was on the Saturday, which was also the free day.

I will certainly recommend this tour.

I am going to Destinations on Sunday and hoping to book this trip as the previous trip is booked up. It is limited and hope there are still places left in 2 days time!!!! We were at the Sphinx, Giza in October when they were staging Aida there. Would loved to have seen it then, but not practical- this trip would solve that problem.

Hello Nicola,

Managed to book Lake Garda on the 21st June by sheer fluke ( thank you Lynne) and paid for the numbered seats as I have seen a few ampitheatres in Jordan and the heights scared the life out of me- certainly wouldn't want to climb down in the dark! Hoped you booked?
