Hi Everyone! Been back 3 days and every time I think back to Rome, I smile broadly!

In today's Guardian (October 1st), there's a report of a dig of Ostia's replacement as Rome's port very close by. And the BBC news last night had an item about the discovery of Nero's revolving dining table near the Colosseum. Bet you can't get one like that in John Lewis's!

Do please feel free to reply - John "Casanova" Young.

Hi All,

Rome seems a long time ago - no pun intended! and I too saw that the Guardian and the Beeb was on our trail so to speak. It was a great trip and such fun.

John Lewis hasn't made it to the south coast yet so retail therapy is much simpler!

All the best,

Helen Simpson

Hi Helen and anyone else from the Treasures of Rome,

Good to hear from you; sorry to be so slow in logging in to Just You. People keep saying, "When you were in Rome, did you see...?"

Acquiring a branch of John Lewis's did wonders for Leicester's self-image; on my rare visits, I think, "Never knowingly understated..."

Do keep in touch,

John
