I am thinking of booking this holiday for 2010 but am still reading some absolutely horrendous up to date postings about it on Trip Advisor. Can someone who has been recently with JY tell me honestly what it is like there please? I have seen tales of there only being a few rooms with air con instead of all rooms, bad food, worn rooms and bathrooms..........Is ANY of this true? I would really like to know before I book.

I have just been to the Salamis Bay Hotel and like you was worried about reports but they are untrue. I was in a lovely room but some on our trip had rooms that weren't quite so good at the back of the building. It looks as thought improvements are being made graudally but the staff were willing to change rooms for people. The food was good, obviously not to everyone's taste but I could find no fault and there was plenty of it. There were two pools, a snack bar,a nice lounge with plenty of seating and a nice little beach. The bar staff were very friendly although the receptionists etc were a bit stern but on the whole the service was very good.The only thing lacking is somewhere to go walking in the evening and lack of entertainment. There was a man playing a mandolin but it was a bit boring hearing the same tunes each night. The rep,Sev, was very friendly and the trips were relaxed and informative. I went on 6th October and the weather was beautiful with no cloud or rain and temperatures around 30. I wouldn't like to go in the summer when the temperature must get pretty high. Hope that helps

I went to Salamis Bay in October 2007

Had a wonderful time - hotel was excellent - I had no complaints - and food very good - plenty of choice. Iagree with the other comments about lack ofentertainment - there is a Casino in the hotel but unless you are into that kind of thing there is nothing else to do in the evenings.

Saying that I had very good company on the holiday and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
